June 22nd, 2008 by michaelwyatt

Cllr Michael Wyatt has been handed a petition by over 100 school children asking for the speed limit along Meadow Lane to be reduced.

Many local children feel their lives are constantly being put at risk by speeding traffic, which travels along Meadow Lane near to the entrance of King Edward VII Community College and Castle Rock High School.

Cllr Michael Wyatt said, “I will be delighted to present this petition signed by so many children to the County Highway Officers, which urges the County Council to reduce the speed limit along Meadow Lane, which will make it safer place for children to travel to and from school. We have been pushing very hard for action over a number of years, this petition will add weight to our call for the speed limit to be reduced”.
