“We have given them a duff service.” says one senior Tory.
June 20th, 2008 by michaelwyattConservative controlled Leicestershire County Council has admitted it is “unacceptable” that people have suffered long delays and, on occasions, poor standards of service from their customer service centre.
Since December, anyone calling the council about issues such as potholes in roads and waste have been directed through to the team, which also deals with e-mails and letters. Up to 20,000 calls a month have been received since then - double the estimated level. Council officers also said they had seen unexpected increases because of seasonal issues, such as grass-cutting.The customer service centre was set up in a bid to resolve most customer queries at the first point of contact. One senior Tory Councillor said, “We have given them a duff service”
Cllr Michael Wyatt said, “I could not of put it better myself, many local residents have told me, and my team that they have tried many times to get through to the customer service centre only to get cut off or had to wait for an unacceptable length of time ”.
