Tories turn scrutiny into a farce
At last nights scrutiny meeting the Tories won 1st prize for making it a complete waste of time to ask for anything to be scrutinised. Cllr Michael Wyatt asked for the decision to close the Market Hall to be scrutinised so members can have their say.
The Tories hardly said anything and did not understand the importance of allowing people a say on such a decision, which will have a huge impact on Coalville.
Cllr Michael Wyatt said, “It was a complete waste of time. The Tories proved to everyone that they are not going to listen to anyone, or take any notice of the concerns expressed by the Market Traders, local people and elected members. The Tories will eventually realise the hard way, that ignoring the wishes of local people will be their down fall”.
